The Wellington School
Work for a Cure - Cancer Research

The students at the Wellington School play on a playground that is dedicated in the memory of Caroline Pryce Walker, a student at the school who died of cancer.  In her honor, the YFJ team decided to work to help cancer research.

The team had Lindsay Wientraub come speak to the group.  Ms. Wientraub is the Fundraising/Special Events Coordinator at the Ohio State University Medical Center.  Together, Ms. Wientraub and the students came up with a plan to help to help fund patient care and research for a cure.  The students also wanted to educate other students about cancer prevention.

Through the students’ efforts, they were able to raise $221.98 and donate it to the James Cancer Research Center at The Ohio State University
