The Wellington School
Animal Advocacy

In looking around their neighborhood, the students on The Wellington School Youth for Justice team noticed that stray animals must fight to stay alive every day by finding shelter and food.  The YFJ students wanted to help the animals in their community.

This group of students decided they wanted to partner with and raise money for the Capital Area Humane Society.  The team worked with Amy Castaneda from the Capital Area Humane Society to find a plan of attack.

The students held several fundraisers by selling stress balls, pizza bagels, and snow cones.  It was a big success for the YFJ team.  The students raised $453.48 to donate to the Capital Area Humane Society.
