What is Youth for Justice?
Youth for Justice is a student-led program designed to encourage and empower youth to be actively engaged citizens who work together to make a positive difference in their community.

First, students identify an injustice, intolerance or problem relevant to them and/or to their local community*.  Students then develop a plan of action and work together to remedy the injustice.

*local community is defined as one of the following: school; neighborhood surrounding school; home neighborhood; city/village/county in which students reside

Who can use Youth for Justice?
Youth for Justice is great for teachers to use in the classroom for service-based learning that aligns with state English/Language Arts and Social Studies standards.  It is also an excellent opportunity for after school programs to offer an exciting educational experience.  The program is for students in grades 4 – 9.

Youth For Justice Summit
The culminating event for Youth For Justice is the Summit, held every spring in Columbus.  The Summit allows teams to display and present their projects. By interacting with their peers, government officials and community leaders, participating students sharpen presentation and public speaking skills as they advocate for positive change.
