David Wilhelm is one of America’s leading political
strategists and managers. He was the national manager
of the 1992 presidential campaign of William Jefferson
Clinton and has directed the campaigns of some of
America’s most respected leaders, including Richard M.
Daley, the Mayor of Chicago, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., the
Chair of the United States Senate’s Foreign Relations
Committee, and the late Paul Simon, a distinguished
Senator from Illinois.
In 1993, upon the recommendation of President-elect
Clinton, Wilhelm was named Chair of the Democratic
National Committee, becoming the youngest person in
American history to head a major national political
party.
Wilhelm is the recipient of a Master of Public Policy
degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts
degree from Ohio University. He has been awarded
honorary doctorates by Ohio University and the
University of Charleston; he has taught at the
University of Chicago and DePaul University and was a
fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics.
Today, Wilhelm is a frequent guest commentator on
leading television news programs such as CNN’s Larry
King Live and The Situation Room, and MSNBC’s Hardball
with Chris Matthews |
